HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I pray that as we begin a new year for the Lord, that our goals are set higher than the
previous year and that we strive with a greater fervor to achieve goals that are set.
May we rely less on our own strength and more in the strength of the Lord.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore
my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him.” ~Ps. 28:7
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” ~Phil. 4:13
May our joy be found less in our successes and more in the blessings of the Lord which He
shares with us each and every day.
“You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your
right hand there are pleasures forever.” ~Ps. 16:11
May our hope look beyond the life in this world, longing to be with our Lord and Savior and
having the desire to be face to face eternally with our heavenly Father.
“So that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His
commandments.” ~Ps. 78:7 (ESV)
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on
the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” ~1 Peter 1:13
This year can indeed be a great year for the saints meeting in Monticello when we give
ourselves completely to the Lord! Let us be about spending time in God’s Word, allowing Him
to instruct us in the ways which lead to eternal life. Let us be fervent in prayer that He may
change our hearts and open our eyes to the works that He has prepared for us to do. Let us be
sure to meet with the saints every opportunity we have, developing a fellowship which will help
us to grow in the strength of our Lord. Let us be about looking for opportunities to teach others
about the saving blood of Jesus Christ. Let us concentrate on being lights in a dark world,
showing the way to Christ.
May the Lord bless each of us as we strive to serve Him in His kingdom this year!
