A LITTLE HERE AND A LITTLE THERE
If I have heard it once, I have heard it a thousand times, can you believe how fast time is
flying by? It was just the other day when we celebrated the New Year and we are now almost
halfway through and beginning to look at the homestretch. Following are a few things to look at
as we watch time fly:
Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. Chris and Leah Bryant have done a fine
job getting it organized and now it is upon us. Now is the time to begin inviting friends to join us
during the week of June 12-15, as we study “Trailblazers for the Faith”. Classes of all ages
(adults included) will be looking at the lives of Jacob, Daniel, Nehemiah and John the Baptist. I
hope you are making plans to be a part of this exciting week. They still need group leaders, set
builders, and skit members. If you can help in any of these areas, see Chris Bryant. If you are not
“actively” involved (classroom teacher, guide, skits, refreshments, etc.), then make plans to
attend and bring someone with you!
Summer Series begins Wednesday evening, June 7. “What Is the Church All About?” is
the theme for this year. We will have speakers from area congregations and from our own. It is
easy during the summer months to let Wednesday evenings slide, but I hope you will make plans
to be in attendance each and every Wednesday, showing your support and encouragement for
each speaker, as they speak on a very important theme. Our first speaker is Ricky Epps from the
McGehee congregation. Look for a complete list of the Summer schedule in the bulletin
beginning next week.
Electronic Bulletin troubles seem to be our plague at this time. We are trying to fix the
problem as quickly as we can. I would ask a couple of favors from you as we work to right the
problem. First, please be patient. We are just now finding out about the miscommunications.
Second, I will continue to send out the bulletins via email each week. If you are receiving the
email, please let me know, either by card notification on Sunday or a reply email. We need your
feedback to get things back on track. In the meantime, you can get most of the information from
our webpage each week. Jeff Newton is doing a great job keeping our site up-to- date.
Change Cans for Children’s Home of Paragould will be available the first Sunday of June. Your
support in this program has always been very generous and greatly appreciated. Change cans will
be collected at the end of August.
