WORLD’S BEST BOOK

This book contains the mind of God, the state of men, the way of salvation, the doom of
sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrine is holy, its precepts are binding, its histories
are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it
to be holy.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the
traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s
charter.
Here Paradise is restored, heaven opened, and the ways of hell disclosed. Christ is the grand
object, our good its design, and the redemption of man its end. It should fill the memory, rule the
heart, and guide the feet. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, a river of pleasure.
It is given to you in life, will be open in judgment, and will be remembered forever. It
involves the highest responsibilities, will reward the greatest labor, and condemn all who trifle
with its sacred contents.

We are only into our third week of Look at the Book and I am so excited at the number of
individuals sharing with me about their reading and the discoveries they are making while
reading. I am getting questions and comments on a regular basis, forcing me to dig a little deeper
into my own studies, so that I can present each lesson in such a way as to help each of us
understand God’s wonderful message of salvation from beginning to end. Thank you for your
encouragement.
Just a brief reminder of our Area Wide Worship, next Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:00.
Our theme this year is “To God Be the Glory!” This will be the last time we host the Area Wide
in our current building. Make sure you have marked this on your calendar and be ready to
worship together with the saints from southeast Arkansas. It will be a great gathering! If you
have not already done so, please take a moment Sunday morning to sign up to help with
refreshments. You always do such a wonderful job hosting! ~Paul Mowrer
