Bible Humor With A Lesson
The words of the Bible can paint a vivid picture in our minds. Our imagination can use
those words to teach us a lesson that will stick with us and leave a lasting impression. A memory
that can last a lifetime. Several of the verses in Proverbs use strong imagery with humor to help
us learn lessons.
Not everyone is a morning person. Even something good, done too early in the morning,
can rub some people the wrong way.
“He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be reckoned a
curse to him” (Proverbs 27:14 NASB).
It is not always easy to get along with people. Choose your spouse wisely.
“A constant dripping on a day of steady rain and a contentious woman are alike”
(Proverbs 27:15 NASB).
“It is better to live in a corner of a roof than in a house shared with a contentious
woman” (Proverbs 21:9 NASB).
We all have those moments when we feel a little lazy. But we can’t make it a lifelong
habit. Making excuses for why we can’t leave the house and staying in bed all day will not get us
anywhere.
“The sluggard says, ‘There is a lion outside; I will be killed in the streets’” (Proverbs
22:13 NASB)!
“As the door turns on its hinges, So does the sluggard on his bed” (Proverbs 26:14
NASB).
