You Are Precious To God!
Humans want to be loved. We have a drive that motivates us to seek out other people and
the relationships that bind us together. There is love between a parent and child, brothers and
sisters, husband and wife, friends, or even the love given by a person to a pet. Love gives us the
assurance that we are not alone in the world. In a larger aspect, love runs the world around us.
However, we often miss out on the most powerful love of all. The love that God has for us. The
Bible is a love story between God and His creation and how His love provides for its well-being.
Even after humanity rejected Him, God reaches out and puts in place a plan to bring them
back. "The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I
have drawn you with unfailing kindness'" (Jeremiah 31:3).
God is the Creator and He loves what He has created, us. "For You created my inmost
being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden
from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the
earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book
before one of them came to be" (Psalm 139:13-16).
God loves us so much He was willing to pay the price to see us returned to Him. "But
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us"
(Romans 5:8).
He loves us with the love of a perfect parent. "See what great love the Father has
lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are" (1 John
