Daily Life Lessons From the Apostle Paul

The Bible is full of so much that will help in our daily lives. The book of Romans shares
several helpful instructions on how to live and interact with our fellow Christians and even how
we are to treat our enemies (Rom. 12:9-18).
“Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” We spend too much time exposing ourselves to
what God hates. We should have no part in that which is evil. We must actively seek that which
is good.
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Too many times
we let our ego get in the way of showing love for each other.
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Keeping
ourselves on fire for the Lord takes effort on our part. It takes time in study, prayer, and worship.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Life is going to have it’s ups and
downs. One thing should always remain constant, our relationship with God.
“Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” We should always be
able to depend on each other within the church.
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” Being angry and having hate for
someone will consume us if we let it.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn”. We are to be a part of each
other’s lives in good times and bad.
“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people
of low position. Do not be conceited.” We may come from different backgrounds but we are all
God’s children.
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If
it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” To live a life of peace
and to show the love of Christ through our actions is what we are called to do as Christians.
