WHAT IS THE “ONE FAITH” IN EPHESIANS 4:5?
Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, is the ONE LORD. The world recognizes and worships many lords. Buddha has influenced more than half the world's population and Mohammed (Islam) one-third. There are followers of Judaism, Bahaism, Con-fucianism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism, the Moonies, etc., but JESUS is the ONLY potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15).
The word lord means ruler, one having power and authority over others to whom service and obedience are due. Jesus is the ONLY Lord! Jude speaks of some who denied the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ (Jude 4). There is but one Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 8:6). For unto you is born this day...a Savior, which is Jesus Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11).
Jesus is the Christ the Lord. He is ETERNAL, not a created being (Colossians 1:15-17). He is identified with the Father and the Holy Spirit, making Him one of three in the godhead (Matthew 4:16-17; 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6). He is Lord of ALL, which leaves no room for any other (Philippians 2:10-11). He has all rule and authority (Matthew 28:18; Acts 2:36; 1 Peter 3:22).
Jesus was born to SAVE all men from their sins (Matthew 1:21). All mankind is to hear His voice and obey His will (Acts 3:22-23; Hebrews 5:8-9). There is salvation in no other name (Acts 4:12). Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me (John 14:6). The way to heaven is simple through Him. Men have cluttered God's plan of salvation with their own doctrines and traditions (adding to and taking from). Jesus said, except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins (John 8:24). Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise per-ish (Luke 13:3). Whosoever, therefore, shall confess me before men, he will I con-fess also before my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 10:32). He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved (Mark 16:16). Why men are not satisfied with the Lord's plan is difficult to understand. Baptism is taken out because men do not think it fits. I CHALLENGE YOU TO DENY ITS A PART OF THE WAY TO HEAV-EN! You cannot do it if you want to go to heaven!
