Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday! It’s another Lord’s Day, which means that we get to
enjoy good faith, genuine fellowship, and can recommit to living out the kind
of faith that is genuine and real in a world that is often fake and artificial.
Spring is here, which means the temps are rising, and so are our busy
schedules. I can sense that college students on campus are stressed, tired, and
are beginning to be overloaded. Be thinking about them in upcoming weeks as
we approach their summer break!
I have had the privilege to see a few things in the last couple of weeks
to which I’ve been impressed. I was able to witness my first forestry conclave
at the beginning of March. Who would’ve thought that forestry could be
competitive?! I also had the privilege of attending SEARK’s play over “Annie”.
A number of our members starred and did fantastic! If you were in the
audience, you also saw how much time, effort, and coordination went into the
production.
I found the story of “Annie” very relevant and spiritually enlightening.
Before we were in Christ, we were spiritual orphans ourselves, walking this
earth with no hope and without “a parental figure” in sight. The beautiful
thing about being “born again” is that we aren’t just new creatures in Christ,
but we also are adopted into God’s family. The Lord so graciously took us
where we were in this cold, dark world and adopted us and made us His own.
He has given us a bath in the waters of baptism, a meal in the Lord’s Supper, a
comforter in the Holy Spirit, assurance/guidance/direction from His Word, a
living hope, a purpose and mission for this life, and an eternal home with Him
in the heavens once this world passes on. There’s so much more depth to our
covenant relationship with our God–and may we never trivialize what God has
so richly provided for us. May we continue to be renewed and transformed by
His unfailing love as our Heavenly Father!
May this be an experience of refilling and renewing, instead of just
mere routine. Let’s break the mold this morning by worshiping our God with
glad and generous hearts. Make sure you sing out! Have a great week...
Blessings!
